Bark fissured

Primary tabs

A bark with distinct longitudinal grooves.

Notes:

In some Lecythidaceae, such as Corythophora rimosa and the species of Lecythis sect. pisonis, the bark is very deeply fissured. In other species, such as Lecythis mesophylla and L. poiteaui, the bark is shallowly fissured but still fissured. Other types of bark in neotropical Lecythdaceae are smooth, rought, and scalloped.
