Description: 

Fissured bark of Corythophora rimosa subsp. rimosa based on Mori & Huang 27282 from the Reserva Ducke, Amazonas, Brazil. This species has an outer bark that is much thicker than the inner bark. The outer bark is laminated and the inner bark is bright red.
