Leaves at ends of old inlforescences of Couroupita guianensis based on an unvouchered cultivated tree at the Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden, Coral Gables, Florida. As the tree ages the older inflorescences become very thick, almost branch-like, and sprout leaves from their ends.
