Flower spread open of Couroupita guianensis based on unvouchered tree at the Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden, Coral Gables, Florida.  Note inferior ovary, staminal ring, stigma in hole in middle of staminal ring, appendage-free ligule, and hood with staminodes.
