Tree of Eschweilera nana growing in cerrado based on Potascheff 001 from Barra do Garças, Mato Grosso, Brazil. The voucher comes from the same locality but may or may not be from this tree. This is one of the shortest species of neotropical Lecythidaceae. This species can sometimes appear to be shrub. Small Lecythidaceae generally grow in drier habitats such as the cerrado of central Brazil.
